Definitely only for toddlers or preschoolers. You can’t even fit a folder in it. I wish I had read the reviews or checked measurements. That is my fault, but in my defense the photos show a much older child wearing the bag than what the bag actually fits. Now I realize after the fact, it does say 13L so it’s rather small. but again, I never even thought to check measurements because the photos all depict older children. We unfortunately won’t be able to use this for our 4th grader. He was super excited for it to arrive but it’s much too small.

Just bought this for my son (he’s a fourth grader) and I’m so sad that I’ll more than likely have to return it because of it’s size. It’s a lot smaller than I thought, but it would definitely be great for kids in grade K-2 or even a smaller built child. My son is almost 5ft and is in the 90th percentile if that tells you anything so he might look a little bit silly wearing it lol. Quality is great and it’s such a cute design.. and the shipping.. paid for standard and literally got in 24 hours after purchasing! Will most definitely exchange for another more fitting backpack.
