The winterized Pegasus Trail 5 provides wet-weather protection for trail running. A waterproof GORE-TEX upper, an all-terrain outsole and reflective design details help you comfortably take on the elements. This special design sends you to the South Kaibab Trail in the Grand Canyon, as part of our ongoing #IYKYK series.

Behind the design
An inscription of one the trail's gnarly switchbacks heading down to the Canyon is hand-drawn on the tongue top. The sockliners are detailed with some of the South Kaibab's more memorable trail markers and the ever-present mules. Keep your eyes peeled for upper graphics that nod to the desert's prickly plants. The pops of purple speak to the trail's super-bright cacti.

So very narrow, crushed the top of my foot

Damn I really wanted to love these shoes but they are so extremely tight around the top of my foot even when ordering one size up. I then went two sizes up so the top of my foot wasn't being crushed but then they were too big in the toe area. Damn I wish they weren't so narrow because I love the gore tex aspect and the look.

How are these sneakers still being sold? It’s a tale of two…shoes? First, there is very little to no support for your heels. With every step I feel that one of my heels are going to pop out from the back. I didn’t even bother to try and run in these for fear of losing one while on the trail. Second, they are oddly very tight. Not in length or width but I feel the top of my feet being crushed. It’s a head scratcher. The back is so loose but the rest of it is so tight. Never again.
