Let’s be honest for a second finding a truly great pair of workout shorts is way harder than it should be. Most of the time, you’re forced to make a massive compromise. You find a pair that feels amazing in the gym, but they look so intensely "athletic" (think neon colors and giant logos) that you feel like a total weirdo wearing them to grab coffee afterward. Or, you find a pair that looks stylish and casual, but the second you try to drop into a deep squat or go for a heavy sprint, the fabric pinches, traps your sweat, and leaves you with an incredibly painful case of chafing. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars over the years trying to find a pair of shorts that actually delivers on all its promises. Most end up sitting at the bottom of my drawer. But after putting these specific training shorts through the absolute ringer for the past few months, I can confidently say the search is officially over. These things are an absolute game-changer. Whether you are an Olympic lifter, a marathon runner, a weekend warrior, or honestly just someone who wants to look good and feel incredibly comfortable while running errands around town, you need these in your rotation. To break down exactly why I am so obsessed with them, I’ve divided this review into the three things that matter most: the materials, the fit (specifically that built-in liner), and how easily they transition into my everyday casual life. I want to start with the fabric because the moment you pull these out of the package, you can immediately tell they aren’t your average, run-of-the-mill gym shorts. A lot of cheap athletic gear feels incredibly scratchy, thin, or feels like you're literally wearing a plastic grocery bag. These are the exact opposite. The material has this beautifully soft, premium, brushed hand-feel against your skin, yet it feels completely durable and substantial enough to handle serious abuse. The first workout I did in these was an incredibly brutal leg day. I’m talking heavy squats, high box jumps, lunges—movements that put an insane amount of stress on your clothing. With my old shorts, I would always feel a distinct "pulling" or binding sensation across my thighs right at the bottom of my squat, which is incredibly distracting when you have heavy weight on your back. With these shorts? Zero resistance. The multi-directional, four-way stretch matrix engineered into this fabric is absolutely phenomenal. It stretches smoothly with every single twist, bend, and explosive movement your body makes, and then it snaps right back into its original shape without getting baggy or stretched out by the end of your session. But where this fabric truly earns a five-star rating from me is its moisture-wicking technology. I am someone who sweats a lot during high-intensity training. In standard polyester or cotton shorts, I usually end up looking and feeling like I just jumped into a swimming pool halfway through my workout. The shorts get incredibly heavy, they cling to my skin, and they take hours to dry. These shorts handle sweat like nothing else I've ever worn. The fabric uses a specialized dual-surface weave that actively pulls moisture away from your skin and pushes it to the outer surface of the short where it can evaporate instantly. Even during grueling, hour-long cardiovascular sessions or heavy lifting workouts in a stuffy, poorly ventilated gym, I stay remarkably dry and comfortable. The fabric never gets that heavy, waterlogged, soggy feeling. They are also incredibly tough. I’ve accidentally scraped the fabric against knurled barbells, rough concrete floors during outdoor workouts, and the abrasive straps of my gym bag, and there isn't a single snag, pill, or loose thread anywhere to be found. They wash beautifully, they don't shrink in the dryer, and the color looks just as vibrant and crisp today as it did on day one. It is, hands down, the best textile engineering I've ever experienced in activewear. Alright, let's talk about the fit and construction, because this is where these shorts truly pull away from the competition. The overall silhouette is perfectly tailored for an athletic physique. It’s streamlined and modern without being skin-tight or restrictively skinny. The waistband is an absolute masterpiece. It’s wide, supportive, and sits perfectly on your hips without digging into your skin or leaving those annoying red marks at the end of the day. It features a really high-quality elastic core paired with a flat internal drawstring. Overall it’s a great pair of pants

Might be my new favorite pair of shorts in all honesty. Great fit and great color. The liner is also great and high quality. The shorts feel very lightweight so it's perfect for working out/running. Love the pockets plus I love that it has zippers for the pockets personally for when I go on runs, I don't have to worry about my phone somehow falling out. Definitely recommend putting these shorts into your rotation if you're on the lookout

I love these shorts. The built-in liner fits snugly without feeling too tight, which allows me to skip compression shorts unless I’m going on a particularly long run. Once they’re on, you barely notice the liner is there, which is exactly what I want. The material feels high-quality and water-resistant, helping to wick away sweat during workouts. It’s hard to believe these shorts are made from recycled materials, which is a feature I really appreciate. The design is excellent, and I especially like this blue colorway since it stands out from the darker shorts I usually wear. Unlike most running shorts that feel limited to athletic activities, these are stylish enough to wear casually as well. The Jumpman logo is also perfectly placed and adds a nice touch. My favorite feature is the hidden zippered pockets. I need pockets in my shorts, but I hate when items can fall out or when pockets add bulk. These pockets are discreet and practically disappear until you need them. The zip closures provide extra security, making them perfect for carrying essentials. This feature alone would be enough to convince me to buy another pair. For reference, I’m 5’10” with a 33-inch waist, and a size Large fits me perfectly. My only minor criticism is that I wish the liner ended a couple of centimeters higher as it can occasionally peek out below the hem, which may bother some people. Overall, though, these are among the best shorts I’ve owned.
