  • Excellent lifting shoe

This shoe enabled me to do the best squats of my life! I had older Metcon models, and they are nice, but this is definitely a huge improvement. The support and stability all around the foot and ankle is wonderful. They aren't as clunky to walk around in as the older models, but still a little bit like clodhoppers...I would never attempt to run in them. But as a serious lifter with two leg days a week these are amazing and perfect for me. I'm glad I listened to others and order 1/2 size up. I usually wear 8 1/2 but went with a 9, and it fits perfectly.

I’ve been wearing these for just a couple months now. The threads have been opening up from the top and near the laces due to which the stitching and fabric has been opening up. Extremely disappointed. I had bought these from store and I haven’t saved the receipt so unfortunately I’m stuck with them now.

  • Good but only for weight training

These shoes run a bit small, so I sized up a half size. I had to replace a pair of Nike flyknit trainers from years ago. The Metcon's are known for their stability. They have a very sturdy sole with limited flexibility. This makes them great for squats, deadlifts, and any moves that require a lot of balance standing up. However, because of the less flexible sole, they are not good for jumping exercises. Even some of my HIIT workouts that require squat jumps or jumping jacks. They lack of bounce in the sole creates hard impact on my ankles. Wish these were better for more cross-functional workouts.
