Comfortable, but the Quality Keeps Getting Worse

I have purchased Nike Everyday Cushioned Crew Socks for my kids for years, but the quality and durability have become extremely disappointing. We are going through around four 6-packs of white socks and another four 6-packs of black socks about every two months because they simply do not last. After only a few washes and normal wear, they start thinning, getting holes, and falling apart. I initially thought the problem might be certain retailers, so I tried purchasing them from Kohl’s, Finish Line, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and even directly from Nike. Unfortunately, there has been no noticeable difference—the quality seems to be the same regardless of where they are purchased. On the positive side, the socks are comfortable when new, have good cushioning, fit well, and my kids really like the Nike crew style. That is honestly why I continue buying them. What is frustrating is that the price continues to rise while the quality and durability seem to get worse. For the Nike name and the price, I expect socks to survive more than a handful of washes and normal everyday wear. Yet here I am trying them one more time for the kids, hoping the quality has finally improved. We really like the comfort, fit, and style—I just wish Nike would bring the durability back to the level it used to be.
