Nike Phantom 6 High Academy

The Phantom 6 High Acad Fg/Mg are pretty solid. I’d recommend sizing up half a size. I felt these were a little tight around the toes than I’m used to, but my ankles felt secure. These are lightweight and thin, so it does feel like wearing sock-shoes. I felt I had good control of the ball. Traction was good. I found it not as easy getting my feet in and out of these- might be a sizing issue. I wish the toe box was a little bigger, otherwise, these are good cleats.

The First Try-On: It Was a Struggle ​It was a bit strange to get all black cleats as the trend for bright colors has been around for a while. I was so hyped to put these on! Seriously, the first couple of times, it was a workout just getting my foot in—they were so difficult to put on. ​I'm not freaking out though, because this always happens with my newer cleats, and they normally stretch a little bit to fit better after a few games. I'm hoping that happens here because the fit is super snug once they're actually on. ​Game Time Performance: ​Once I got them on and laced up, they felt legit. I used them on a thick grass field, and the grip was awesome. They really dug into the field, and I felt completely locked down while cutting and running. The traction is definitely solid on soft-to-medium ground. ​The Early Verdict ​They're currently a massive pain to get on, but they completely deliver on the field performance. ​The grip is undeniable, but the difficulty getting them on means you need patience for the break-in. I still need to test them on the harder fields to see how they feel there, but so far, great performance.

These black cleats look so clean — lightweight, sharp design, and the pop of color on the swoosh is perfect. They have normal laces, which lets my son get the fit just right. They definitely run snug, especially for wide feet. My son is a wide and can still wear them, but they’re more of a tight, locked-in feel. Performance is solid: great traction, lightweight, and no slipping when he cuts or pivots. If your player likes a fitted cleat that looks elite, these are a win.
