In 2019, 86% of our cotton was organic, recycled or Better Cotton. We are working to source more sustainable cotton across our entire product line, with a goal to reach 100% by the end of 2020. That means using certified organic and recycled cotton, and cotton sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).
BCI trains farmers to use water efficiently, care for soil health and natural habitats, reduce use of the most harmful chemicals and respect workers' rights and well-being. Organic cotton delivers the same long-lasting comfort and breathability as conventional cotton, and is grown without the use of fossil fuel-derived pesticides or synthetic fertilisers. Since organic cotton is developed using farming techniques that help replenish soil fertility, it also has a lower carbon impact than conventional cotton.
