Behind the Design

Air Max 90 Viotech

Gaining popularity in the early 2000s on a now iconic Dunk Low release, the vibrant Viotech purple makes its return on another Nike classic.

"Back in the early 2000s, we used to make Japan exclusives, and at that time, there was a lot of energy around the Dunk. So the team out there came up with the Viotech colourway, also known in Japan as Crazy Dunks".

Utilising a combination of eclectic colours, Nike Colour Designers looked to curate the coveted colourway that gave rise to the iconic classic.

Drawing inspiration from stories and concepts, a team of designers meticulously studies different colour combinations and proportions to create palettes for your favourite colourways.

Reminiscent, but re-imagined, the storied Viotech colourway returns on one of the most revolutionary models in Nike history.

"As colour designers, when we looked at the 90 for the anniversary, we were thinking, 'What could this shoe look like along with some of the other iconic colourways of Nike's history?' And of course we went to Viotech and it was a match made in heaven".
