  • Incredible Update

Beyond comparison. I’ve owned the original Zegama (2Pairs), placed 500 miles on each, very well informed about this shoe. The Zegama 2 addressed all my minor issues with the sole, toe box and to me the tongue. So plush and nice, the midsole is springy yet cushioning. Sure footed on slick surfaces as well. They also will get people’s attention, very cool looking upper, looks great with anything. Well done Nike!

  • Foot pillows with Vibram grip A+++

I used these for the second half of UTS 100k after my feet were already battered by the rockier more technical first half. These shoes were dreamy for this. Super soft and just enough grip on the rockier sections. I wouldn't take them down steep scree fields or up scrambles just because of the stability and cushioning getting in the way. The stability isn't bad but as with any maximalist shoes stability won't be 100%. They held up well in the bogs but I probably wouldn't take them out mid winter when the downhills can be slipper. The lugs are maybe 3.5/4mm in depth so they can handle soft muddy downhills but not suitable for really wet slippy grassy swampy downhills in my opinion. If I didn't already have too large a shoe collection, I'd use these as my everyday running shoes, they definitely perform super well on anything hard packed. Loving that Nike are finally playing to their strengths: embracing Vibram and not trying to compete. Sometimes you gotta take an L to get the win and these shoes are a massive win, a shoe I've been searching for for a long time.

  • Reduction in foot pain

As an avid trail runner, Nike was the last brand I thought I would end up using for my trail running shoes. Sometime ago, I found out I have a lisfranc injury that never healed properly, and it causes me great discomfort on longer runs. I tried all the major brands in trail running in search of the most comfortable shoe to help with my lisfranc injury pain. One day I came across the Nike Zegama 2 at my local running store, they let me run on their treadmill with the shoes and much to my surprise they were beyond expectations with comfort. Keep in mind, I tried these shoes on after a 15 mile trail run so my foot was in the usual pain. I was astounded by the comfort and the reduction in pain in my foot. I bought them and now I don’t wear anything but the Zegama 2. The one thing I would suggest, is maybe better lateral support for the very technical trails, and darker color ways, the lighter colors are nice but these are trail shoes and will get dirty in the first mile or two. Thank you Nike for helping in the mitigation of my foot pain, it’s not completely gone, but with my doctor prescribed orthotic combined with the Zegama 2, I run with 50% less pain in my foot.
