The part of the shoe where you put your foot in is about half an inch of floppy cloth, meaning it's impossible to put your shoes on without using two hands. Also, the shoe feels like it's only on your foot just above the heel, as if you're wearing Crocs, even though it's a regular shoe. Hard pass.

A real shame, really liked the look and general feel of these, the midsole foam is plush and comfortable, I liked the heel padding and the ankle cuff that keeps debris out (a design feature I've always loved since my Wildhorse 7's) and was excited about the waterproofing the GTX offered for trail running, but they do indeed run small. I normally wear a 13, and I ordered a 13 and 14 to try after reading reviews and the Nike suggestion to size up - unfortunately the 13 was too small and 14 was too big and I'm going to have to send both sizes back. A 13.5 would have been perfect - really wish Nike continued their half sizing with their bigger shoe sizes because this isn't the first time I've run into this issue.

Like many other reviews point out, the heel slips when walking or running. I also own the regular Pegasus Trail 5 (without GORE-TEX) and don't experience the issue with those. It's a great shoe otherwise, but the feeling of the shoe being loose is not confidence-inducing when running on the trails!
