So I am not much of a runner but these shoes are made for those who want the smooth ride of a Nike and not deal with the elements while using them. I use these to climb the dunes in MI with the pups, walk endless trails around lakes to find fish and even golfed in them a few times. Never got wet and my feet haven't got hot. The only gripe I have is the bumbs on the mid sole, make them extremely hard to clean.
