Kick up
An inscription of one the trail's gnarly switchbacks heading down to the Canyon is hand-drawn on the tongue tops. The sockliners are detailed with some of the South Kaibab's more memorable trail markers and the ever-present mules. Keep your eyes peeled for upper graphics that nod to the desert's prickly plants.
Full bloom
The speckled midsole is inspired by the route's red dirt. The pops of purple speak to the trail's super-bright cacti while the blues pay homage to the lake that once was.
More Responsive
The ReactX foam midsole is 13% more responsive than previous React technology. Crafted for performance and planet, ReactX foam is engineered to reduce its carbon footprint by at least 43% in a pair of midsoles due to reduced manufacturing process energy compared with prior React foam. The carbon footprint of ReactX is based on cradle-to-gate assessment reviewed by PRé Sustainability B.V. and Intertek China. Other midsole components such as airbags, plates or other foam formulations were not considered.
Breathable for your run
We placed mesh with tighter woven fabric in high-wear areas, like the toes. Mesh is combined with open holes on the upper for breathability.
All-direction traction
Less rubber along the outsole compared with the previous iteration creates a smooth transition from road to trail while preserving the full-length ReactX midsole. A generative traction pattern combined with rubber in the forefoot provides extra grip for technical trails while maintaining a smooth ride for the road.
Secure feel
Flywire technology integrates with the laces to help secure your midfoot.

I bought these seeking a shoe that would sustain both trail and road running - this is definitely the one. Comfort levels are high and support is where it needs to be. I’ve seen some reviews that talk about the lack of ankle support and risk of rolling. It’s important to know that these are low cut shoes and do not offer the same brace that the Goretex version does (these are also not as stiff). I’ve yet to take these to any Spartan races as planned but so far I’ve ran multiple 6-8 mile runs across uneven trails, grassy terrain, and muddy waters with no problem at all. I’ve also worn these across pavement and also had no issues. I love these and will definitely order again. Be sure to get a half size up!
