Can I Submit an Idea to Nike?

Yes, you can submit your idea to Nike for consideration by following the steps below. Before you start, be aware that we will only consider qualifying ideas.

  • Ideas that qualify: Any idea with a utility patent, utility model or a pending non-provisional patent on file with the appropriate government agency.
  • Ideas that don't qualify: All design work (including patented ones), artwork, advertising or marketing suggestions, copyright registrations, slogans, logos, brands, trademarks or other similar submissions.

Submit your idea

  1. Download the relevant form and read it carefully:
    1. Idea Submission Agreement for Businesses
    2. Idea Submission Agreement for Individual Inventors
  2. Complete the form:
    1. All applicable information must be submitted in English.
    2. All submissions must come from the inventor and match the name on the inventor's patent—not a representative of the inventor.
  3. Email ideasubmissions@nike.com with your completed form.

After submitting your idea

Please note the following:

  • We'll only accept electronic submissions to ideasubmissions@nike.com. DON'T physically post prototypes to Nike. If a prototype or sample is required, we will contact you. Any and all posted prototypes will be returned to the sender or may be destroyed at our sole discretion.
  • Because it may take up to a year for us to review a submission and reply, we encourage you to pursue other opportunities while waiting.
  • If we accept your submission, our acceptance does not imply we will use the idea or provide compensation of any kind.
