What began as an experiment in cushioning by engineer Frank Rudy quickly evolvedinto something more thanks to the vision of then-developer Mark Parker anddesigner Tinker Hatfield. The introduction and subsequent development of visibleAir forever altered the future of footwear.

Tinker’s background in structural design allowed him to architect a new dynastyin sportswear. Postmodern Parisian towers, with transparent walkways and bold pops of colour,would prove instrumental to the final Air Max design.
