The Vaporfly 4 is a lean, mean, mile-eating machine. We trimmed weight in the midsole, outsole and upper from the Vaporfly 3, without sacrificing performance. The result is a lighter, more propulsive all-round racing shoe that's trusted from the mile to the marathon.

Superlight, fast, not as bouncy as before

Superlight, comfortable, breathable, no breaking in needed. I’ve owned Vaporfly 1-3 and this seems hardier than Vaporfly 3 (foam and soles were disintegrating despite only occasional running in them within a year). Moved from a US9 to US9.5 for this version for the right fit. Midfoot more snug but toebox fit was just right for a carbon-plate shoe (current ones are cut too wide for my normal-width feet) and some heel slippage but not major with correct lacing (improved vastly from Vaporfly 1), overall fit improved. Seems less bouncy than previous versions though, I ran 17km in them and could feel a little sole fatigue already. Would have preferred better return and more foam support to last longer distances eg. marathons. But on sale it’s still an excellent buy and enjoyable easy run for at least mid-20kms (not tested for longer distances).

My 3rd pair of Vaporfly 4 running shoes. Super comfortable and perfect for my running training. I love the design and will definitely buy this model again in the future.

Nike's most resilient foam just got a little better. The midsole design saves weight and unlocks even more energy return by reducing foam where it isn't needed.
The lab-tested and runner-validated, curved, full-length carbon-fibre Flyplate delivers a propulsive feel and unlocks more leverage from the foot and ankle.
The blown rubber outsole delivers a dynamic combination of traction, durability and cushioning. The softer material compresses to conform to the road for elevated traction and a smooth transition.
The engineered mesh upper increases comfort and fit consistency, while contributing to the overall weight savings of the shoe.
