MILAN FASHION WEEK

ROCK ‘EM

Amidst the buzz of the semi-annual fashion month, we found ourselves in Milan for women's fashion week. As one of the four OG fashion week cities, Milan is known for hosting runway shows for the most iconic Italian, as well as International, fashion houses. Fashion week nowadays attracts more than just the haute couture and prêt-a-porter crowd. We went to Slam Jam and Spazio Maiocchi to visit the 'Coming Of Age' feat. Little Big Man Gallery & Kaleidoscope exhibition and found those sneakerheads, proving the still growing love for street culture within high fashion. And as fashion week is still the time to strut your stuff, you will find some real gems on foot.

Margherita

@margherita_to

Margherita is a model and Communication student from Milan.
“The laces on these Off Whites are my favourite thing. I can tie them all the way around the back and they really pop against the color of the shoe. Also the fabric of the swoosh is really cool. They have a mountain vibe which appeals to me as a hiker. I wear a lot of plain black stuff and these really add that special touch to my outfit.”

Andrew

@andrew_westermann

Andrew is a model and musician from Cologne living in Milan.
"I have been a massive fan of Travis Scott since day one. When he started the Nike collaboration I pulled all the strings I have to get every single one of them. I loved seeing how his art direction and team have evolved from Owl Pharaoh to Rodeo to Astroworld. Their storytelling is fantastic and the shoe embodies that same creativity with every aspect of it. The rarer the shoe, the more I want to wear them to a festival. So at some point I will put them in a glass box, but not until they're totally worn out. I'm a collector in a way of really celebrating the shoe by actually wearing them."

Paola

@piusugo

Paola is a site manager living in Milan.
"These P-6000s were actually an experiment for me since they are really "trainer" type shoes. I already have several types of Nikes, but not all of them suit me very well because of my small posture. I wasn't expecting them to fit, but once they arrived it turned out they go with everything, from classy looks to casual looks. I initially wanted to get the grey ones, and then the red ones or the black ones, but actually I just want to buy all of them now as they work with everything!"

Marcello

@bar_sport_la_primula

Marcello works for Slam Jam as the Milan Store Manager and buyer.
“I come from a background of skating, downhill mountainbiking and bmx’ing combined with hardcore and punk music. I am not really a low cut guy, but the Eric Koston SB brings my love for those cultural elements together. It’s not a hype thing, but more of a throwback for me. I also really love the colourway, because I can wear them with any outfit.”

Carola

@cnava_12

Carola is working on her own silver jewelry line.
“I live outside of Milan and my day consists of moving from a to b. The lightness of the Peg Turbo Gyakusou provides me with both comfort and a striking appearance. I found a lot of the Japanese culture that I love in this shoe, from the softness of the colours to the form of the shoe. When I look down at this shoe I find something that I can really connect with.”

Lorenzo

@lorenzo31

Lorenzo owns a clothing line and works on collaborations between brands in New York and Milan.
“Back in the day I wore my Air Max 97’s for a few years in a row, nothing else. Then I switched to Jordans and a few other models, but somehow the time is right for me to go back to my beloved 97’s now. When Italians like something as much as the 97’s, we go all-in. My friends and I even used to play football in them. I have three pairs of these and one pair in gold.”
