THE AJV 'SATIN'

BEHIND THE DESIGN

In 1985, Jordan Brand debuted the Flight Suit in black-and-red and black-and-royal blue. The suits were a bold statement thanks to their loose silhouette, head-to-toe color-blocking and combination of nylon and fleece. Years later, in 2016, the Flight Suit’s shiny surface inspired the OG Vault Flight Suit (a re-creation of the original), a special-edition satin jacket and “Banned” satin Air Jordan Is.

Since then, satin has been reserved for a special group of Air Jordan Is, including the “Royal,” the women’s “Shattered Backboard,” the “Season of Her” collection and the Aleali May collaboration. For the first time, satin is part of the Air Jordan V, with a colorway inspired by a never-released Black/Fire Red AJV prototype designed by Tinker Hatfield.

The Air Jordan V “Satin” uses the same materials as the original Black/Metallic Silver release, except with a satin upper, red midsole, ice outsole and the Jumpman on the heels.

The Air Jordan V 'Satin' is launching on November 26th on SNEAKRS.
