  • Soft Ride on the Trail, helping me get back into the sport!

I must say that typically I don't do well with Nike trail running options. In the past I have returned Pegasus Trail and Wildhorse because they just didn't have a great fit or comfort level out on the single track. But I have ran several shorter trail runs in the Zegama's so far and I'm sold! The closest comparison to my past shoes is the Hoka Speedgoat, but these might have even more cushioning. They are probably best suited for longer distances, but I'm dealing with long term injuries and these shoes are giving me that soft ride that I needed. I especially like the unique padding and shape of the tongue (some of my issues are on top of my feet). My only complaint is the odd color options, seems to be a trend with Nike lately. And I haven't had them long enough to know if I'm going to get 200+ Miles out of them, the foam seems to show me that they will start losing their bounce before then.

I ran with Wildhorse 6 and Terra Kiger 6, 7, 8 and had a good experience overall with Nike Trail Runners. I decided to buy the Zegamas and have enjoyed the cushioning and the stability of the shoe on easy trails. However a couple of things to point out that I did not enjoy about this shoe: 1) Lots more ankle rolling on Zegamas. I believe this is because the drop is higher. This has been considerably noticeable compared to the Terra Kigers. 2) The shoe is fragile and already falling apart after 200km. Terra Kigers are some of the most durable shoes I had, however my Zegamas have considerable wear and tear on the sides. I don't think I will be able to get to 250km with these shoes, which is not what I expect when I buy a trail runner.

  • They made me give up my Peg trail 3...

It's definetely a step up after a long use of the Pegasus Trail 3. Better cushion, good overall grip and it feels both tight and loose at the right places each...
