Nike Basketball offers an update to the Throwback Pants, an off-court piece made with 100% recycled material. The drawcord tips and Swoosh design are both made from one-of-a-kind Nike Grind material.
Lightweight but uncomfortable

These pants felt very lightweight and would be great for a warm climate or intense workout. However, the mesh lining inside kept sliding and made them uncomfortable. The material felt like it could rip very easily and wasn't a very good quality. The design was interesting, the block colors were appealing but the piping just made the design look very dated. The pants fit a bit odd as well, the were super tight around the backside and considering I have a flatter backside it would not work for someone who has a round backside. When I bent my knees to squat I was afraid they would rip. The constant rubbing of the mesh liner even when just walking around and performing light household work made me uncomfortable. Overall I didn't love these pants.
Throwback pants are super comfy but have a baggy cut to them

My son’s wardrobe mostly consists of thick heavyweight joggers. In comparison, these are a breath of fresh air. They’re lightweight, breathable, and so very comfortable. You’d think that since these pants are so thin, you’d be cold in these in the winter / early spring, but not so. They warm up to the body pretty quickly. He says that they don't get too hot though, they're just right in terms of warmth and he doesn't sweat in them. The elastic waistband and ankles hold the pants in place but aren’t too tight or annoying. The pants are fully lined with a comfy soft mesh polyester fabric (reminiscent of what you’d find in swim trucks). The pockets aren't made out of solid material - just the mesh lining. While the pants themselves feel like they will be durable, I feel like the mesh-only pockets could be sturdier (I worry about my son putting something sharp in his pocket like keys and tearing the mesh). The design of the pants are like throwback track pants from the 90s. They’re colorful with panels of light lime green, gray, and black with white piping accents. He and I are both glad that the green is muted – I’m not sure if he would wear them if they were super bright green. As is, the swatches of different colors are appealing to my teen, he says the colors are fun. He really loves the thick drawstrings with sturdy speckled aglets on the end, and he says the speckled swoosh logo is a nice touch too. He’s environmentally conscious so he likes the fact that these are made of recycled materials. The pants are on the baggier side, especially in the crotch and upper thighs. Works for him but isn’t for everyone. These are versatile; he’ll use them for school, shooting hoops, when he’s out and about, or just lounging around.

Overall these are great pants. They are lightweight and comfortable. The sizing is accurate maybe slightly on the larger side, but not enough that I would order a different size. I do wish they had other color options to offer more versatility in where they are worn. The bright colors don't match a lot so if you want to wear them on a casual day it's hard to find much that matches them other than plain colored shirts. These are worn by a teenage boy and he loves them.
