It looks cool but it's not really functional for how bulky it is. The wind cuts right through it. You definitely need to layer (why it runs big/loose obviously) with something more technical. Was out in 37 degrees this morning with a biting wind and only a cotton t shirt underneath and was really,really cold after 20 minutes. That's why I say you need a pretty good technical or insulating layer underneath. Layering with a long sleeve cotton shirt isn't going to fix it and you can't just throw a whole other sweatshirt underneath, that would look ridiculous. Clear weather, no wind, 45+ degrees, sure this will work. But anything above 50+ degrees it's so bulky, with this big retro pile sherpa fleece,you look like your going to hike the Andes or something. The front pocket is lined with some really nice, fine, fleece I don't know why they didn't line the whole jacket with it. Instead it's lined with this weird mesh material that doesn't protect you at all.

Look, i own several of these types of jackets. They are outdoor jackets intended to be layered so they fit very loose and baggy. I’m not at all into loose or baggy, in a skinny guy with a small build so it just looks stupid on me, but that’s the designed purpose. This thing looks awesome until i put it on. Then i look pregnant. I ordered this knowing that because i still wasn’t exactly what it is. Here’s the skinny on this not so skinny jacket... it’s good for cold temperatures, but not great. It breathes decently, but lets in The wind. It does this because it’s breathable And Because it’s baggy. It’s still a much better solution than a typical hoodie and that’s what these are a replacement for, for me. No more weak, cheap hoodies! This thing rocks! It’s warmer, looks much better in style (not fit) and feels much much much nicer and softer! It fits true to size, other than being baggy. I’m 6’1” 175lbs and wear a medium. Bought medium and am happy.
