Immediately My Favorite Trail Shoe

Wanted to get a wide trail runner that would be comfortable for my wide, flatter feet. Immediately took them for a 22 mile trail run. The shoes felt completely broken in by mile 10. I own the Hoka One One Challenger ATR6 but missed the soft cushioning and spring from my Epic React 2. Also tried the Lone Peak 5 and really liked the plush, wide foot bed but didn't like the zero drop. The Trail Pegasus is the best combination of the React cushioning, Hoka maximalist design, and Lone Peak wideness. The stack height is pretty high but I didn't find that I was any less stable than the Hokas on technical east coast trails. Though the toe box isn't as wide as the Lone Peak (could have been a little wider for me), I didn't feel like my toes were super jammed and the low profile arch support was just enough for my feet. The heel felt that it would slip, something that it shares with Flyknit shoes I've worn, but it never did though a slightly more prominent heel cup would be appreciated. The toe bumper that extended from the sole was great for the rock soccer that characterizes east coast running. The lugs didn't appear very aggressive but I had no problem navigating muddy trails after a storm. The shoes dried quickly after a stream crossing, probably in a matter of 20 minutes. The neoprene tongue is super comfortable and allowed for a nice tight lock. My runs usually have a fair bit of road mileage along with very technical climbs with descents and shoes felt great on the road and I never got jabbed by any rocks on the trail. Not the best choice for technical rock scrambles but will be the primary workhorse in my rotation and will be my weapon of choice for my next 50k.

51 years old, 230lbs. I've not been running in years but am an avid hiker in the Los Angeles area. I've struggled a lot with knee issues. I've used Solomon, Hoka, Altra, and have even switch back to a nice boot with some very good Asolo's. I can't seem to stop the knee pain on a normal hike. Always downhill. Well, I purchased a pair of these and did a moderate 5 mile hike on a local trail with some adverse conditions for my maiden voyage. I was able to shave off nearly 15 minutes of my hike on this outing. My downhill speed is usually quite slow, but with these, the pain was a mumble at best instead of a shout. Pros - very cushy, but stable enough. Light, strong, breathable. They gripped so well I felt like spiderman, but did not go over any wet rocks in them. Cleaned off easily. Cons - I would not try edging with these. Found a little slippage on side to side. The lacing system could be a little better, but maybe I just need to work with them. I usually get a size 14 for athletic shoes and did with these, but found them to be a little large. Overall, I love these and hope they will continue. Next week, bridge to nowhere hike. See how they do with some water.
Good looking and versatile shoe perfect for cross country runs

These are the perfect shoes for cross country. these shoes look good and feel better. It has enough room for my wide foot too which is a plus. As you would expect from a $130 shoe from nike the material is top notch and every part of the shoe was thought out. I especially like the lip on the top which prevents rocks and other debris from getting in and the super grippy bottom. Thanks for designing a wonderful shoe
