How This Was Made

  • The recycled polyester used in Nike products begins as recycled plastic bottles, which are cleaned, shredded into flakes and converted into pellets. From there, the pellets are spun into new, high-quality yarn used in our products, delivering peak performance with a lower impact on the environment.
  • In addition to reducing waste, recycled polyester reduces carbon emissions by up to 30% compared to virgin polyester. Nike diverts an average of 1 billion plastic bottles annually from landfills and waterways.

Nice material but ruined by the overly large neck

RobDJackson21 - Jun 14, 2021

The new Dri-Fit ADV material is very light and soft and is a vast improvement over the material used for the previous version of the Techknit Ultra (on the new version, there is no longer static electricity immediately after putting the top on). The reduced-seam design is also better, as it fixes the issue with the annoying seam across the shoulders, and the slightly larger sizing is also an improvement. The pattern and colours are very nice, especially the Hasta, Game Royal and Light Sienna. Unfortunately, the problem with the top is that the neck is extremely big. I have to size up to a 2XL anyway in Nike’s Slim Fit tops, but even in XL, the neck hole is far too large and makes the top unwearable, as it’s uncomfortable and looks strange. Also, this is just personal preference, but I prefer running tops without cuts in the bottom hem, which create an annoying flap at the back. Overall, although the material is nice, the top doesn’t live up to the quality of the Dri-Fit Knit tops from a few years ago.

I love this garment, looks great on, very comfortable and I’ve gotten several complements.
