SAM KERR: UNEXPECTED GREATNESS
Sam Kerr is one of the biggest names in soccer right now—and for good reason. She’s amassed four Golden Boot awards across two leagues and will serve as captain of the Australia Women’s National Team this summer.
But her path to soccer was a reluctant one at first. She initially grew up playing Australian rules football with the boys, yet as she grew older, she had to leave the sport behind. What was a “woeful” start, eventually turned into a passion to be among the best.
“I had to have a huge wake-up call to realize this is what I wanted to do with my career,” Kerr says. “It took me until I was 18 to take myself and my sport seriously.”
Well, there's no doubt now: Kerr is one of the game’s greats. Watch her journey to the pinnacle.
