Ousmane Dembélé wanted to grow up quicker than other kids. From amateur leagues in 2015 to the biggest stage of world football just three years later, Dembouz’s rise in fame has been as lightning fast as his sprints on the pitch. And that’s saying something.
Back home in his neighbourhood of La Madeleine in Evreux, kids carry on playing on the streets where Dembélé would practice his cutbacks, night after night. They’re inspired by their hero, just like he was inspired by those he saw on TV, not long ago. Today, he plays alongside them. With his pace and determination, who knows? He might even overtake them.
