Hey it’s your girl Coco Mell,
Coco Mell is many things.
From the top,
stylist, content creator,
cultural strategist, cultural communicator,
and an absolute sneaker fiend.
I got into styling 10, 15 years ago,
So the sneakers have always been the foundation.

You dress from the kicks up,
that’s all I know.
Sneakers is the penultimate.
It’s where I’m able to express myself,
have the most fun,
be comfortable, cozy,
but also flex a look.
These fit into my life
because they’re a great transition
from day to night.
I feel I can wear them to
go to a bunch of meetings,
run around the city,
but also dress it up
with a cute like, blazer co-ord
for the evening settings.

I love the Nike Air Rift
so much that I thought
today I’m gonna
bring my day ones
for you all.
2008 editions
that I’ve lived in
to say the least.
So they fit into my style then.
I was heavily hard-core into
my tomboy era.
So these felt feminine enough,
but also I could rough and tumble in them.

So that’s why I’m glad
that the Air Rift 2’s
are now spinning the block
for a second time.
So I chose these pieces on the rail
because it’s me to my core.
It includes comfort, experimentation
and signature style.

So I chose this outfit simply because summer’s coming.
I wanna give the people inspo
to get summer ready.
I wanted to put texture,
Color blocking,
and always reference the swoosh as well.
So with this experimental look,
I definitely went for texture and volume.
I’m kind of quite slender-build,
and I kind of thought,
how can I make myself bigger
using silhouettes?

So I came to this look
with a cozy mindset.
I immediately wanted to do color blocking,
keep it really clean, really fresh,
just with the slight pops of red here and there,
But predominantly the neutral tone of the green.
This feels experimental
because of the use of layering here.
This is actually a top
and this is actually a cute skirt,
so they’re actually not like a one-piece.

For someone who wants to experiment
with their own style,
I think use references,
but don’t copy them.
Mix it up, remix it,
add things you haven’t seen done before.

I would probably best describe
the three looks I created..
Comfort, experimental, signature.
I think they all encompass me
and how I like to kind of step outside.
