"My name is Dimplez. I'm Nigerian. I grew up a mix between Nigerian and stateside, but I absolutely love it here. I'm a failed basketball player that actively works in music and I absolutely adore sneakers".

"So can you walk us through your career journey and how you ended up as Senior VP at Capitol Music? I started to focus more on what it meant to market, socialise and publicise websites ...".

"And the artists that were on them. So then I went very quickly from being the Web Designer to being the Publicist and then from being the Publicist to being the Social Media Manager ...".

"About 15 years later now, I actively occupy the role as SVP of Digital Marketing and Content Development at Capitol".

"You advocate for more racial equity in the music industry. How have you seen the culture shift over the last five years? I've seen the culture shift by artists now being represented, whether it be at management firms, agencies, labels, what have you ...".

"By the same type of people that they speak to. We had Black artists only being handled by White executives. We had Latinx artists only being handled by White executives. Now ...".

"Not only are Black artists speaking to Black people, but they're being represented by Black executives. It makes your music, it makes your art, it makes your creativity really reach who you want it to reach".

"What is the best advice you can give to those aspiring to be in the music industry, whether they want to be an artist or they want to be in marketing or any other avenue? The best advice I can give is just start".

"Genuinely, just start. A lot of the things that I do right now on a daily basis didn't exist as a career or in school. It wasn't something I could have learnt had I not begun, failed, tried again, failed until I figured something out. "

"Now, what does it mean to you to be a part of the Jordan Brand Women's Collective in LA? Man, it's been an absolute honour to be part of that Collective. I get to literally be grouped with 22 of the coolest girls in North America".

"Everyone from Creative Directors to Models to Basketball Coaches, amazing human beings. We're all respectively giving back in our communities".

"We actually went to Chicago for the Women's WNBA All-Star Weekend, I encourage everybody to go. We got to make this just as big, if not bigger than the NBA All-Star. Them girls be hooping".

"The Women's Collective just hosted a public-speaking workshop for young women. So can you share any of the tips that you guys talked about? I think a lot of times as women, when we walk in rooms, our initial thing is to minimise ourselves ...".

"And make ourselves smaller in order to make other people around us feel comfortable. And the thing that we got to really drill down with those young women is never do that".

"Dimplez, what's next for you and where can people find you? What's next for me is that I'm going to continue to try and take over the world. I'm like Pinky and Brain. That was a classic".
