I go by ‘LESS’ because it holds the meaning of what I do through my work — erasing the notion of boundaries by capturing the unfamiliar, the surreal gap hidden within reality.

The Seongsu neighborhood I walk through is where old factories and new cultural spaces converge. The spot I find most appealing is the elevated track of Subway Line 2.

Though sometimes considered an outdated relic that impairs the visual landscape, I see this colossal structure as a symbolic scene connecting Seongsu's past and present.

I enjoy capturing stacked moments. When two different elements are contained within a single frame,  it creates a point that makes you want to stare longer.

In that sense, the coexistence of Seongsu’s heritage factories and its refashioned cultural streets offers many unreal and fascinating subjects.

To me, Seongsu is timeless yet restless. Now being such a popular destination, the character of this district continuously changes depending on who gathers. 

Just like the subjects, I like to capture in my photography, you can’t really define Seongsu in a single sentence. It’s just a constantly evolving space, defined by those who come and go in every passing moment.
