Last updated: 1 November 2024 3 min read  First introduced as a basketball shoe in 1982 with revolutionising Nike Air cushioning, Nike Air Force 1 shoes have transcended the label of basketball kicks. They're an icon and an essential wardrobe staple that changed sneaker history. AF-1s are constructed with stitched overlays on the upper that sit on a foam midsole and rubber outsole. The design gives you the right height for comfort and offers a timeless silhouette. ## Do Nike Air Force 1s run big? Air Force 1s generally run big due to the roomy toe box, which allows for a relaxed fit. We recommend selecting half a size smaller than your usual Nike shoe size. However, if you have wide feet, you can go with your usual Nike size without having to size down. The shoes get roomier as you break them in.
