SB Dunk Low x NOTE Manchester

We drink tea all day. Do you know what I mean? We eat biscuits all day. Where I live it's near the McVities factory. You know, you wake up and smell the biscuits. My names Paul, I'm the founder of Note in Manchester.

We've been selling Nikes for a long time now. They started inviting us to these summits. Where they get all the skate shops together and all that. And got invited to one out in Amsterdam. And before we went out there they kind of gave us this brief like, we want you to pitch a shoe idea to us.

In the office, just opened the emails. Got the kettle on, got to thinking and that was it. The Round 1 sample, when this came through the door. We were like, nailed it. There wasn't much we really wanted to change about that. I wanted the swoosh to look like it was dipping into the brew.

One of the guys in the shop was like, what if it was Velcro and you could change it? I was like, that's perfect! You can't just have one biscuit. This is a Digestive and you've got a bit of texture to it. And then, got the chocolate with ripples in it.

And then, we toyed around with the 3rd biscuit. We had a few different ideas. But we really wanted to offer a colour pop. So went with the pink wafer. I always liked the Feris Bueller Dunk. And it had Leopard skin laces with it. And it's something I hadn't really seen Nike SB do that often.

So I thought let's bring that back. The contents of a biscuit tin and then we got that printed on the laces. I just like the idea of it being called the Nike Note Dunk Biscuits. Right from the get go I had this idea that the shop should support the community.

Motivate the skateboarders, give them something to go for. Filming, getting coverage and stuff. At '99 when we started, it was kind of a pretty low time for skateboarding. There wasn't much in the way of facilities. We just try and put on events for the people. Bring the scene together and give it some consistency.

Video premieres, Demos, whatever we can to keep people stoked on skating. I love Manchester and I feel pretty honoured to have a shop that's been going for this long. In the city. And that people seem to like and support and stuff.

I was dead set, if we were going to make a special box it was going to be a tin box. Oh yeah so we popped in a little tea towel. With the same design as the interior of the shoe. We had to do a lot of research into this shoe.

I had to buy a lot of biscuits and take pictures. Oh yeah I ate a hell of a lot of biscuits, yeah. Nike SB Note Dunk. Get the kettle on.
