  • Good for long miles, not longevity.

The first 50 miles or so on these shoes are brilliant. The ZoomX foam is soft and bouncy even on tired legs, I can squeak out any amount of mileage I'm pushing for that day. I primarily got these for my long steady runs, recovery runs, but have used them for some tempo stuff too. I've had them about 2 months and put 180 miles on them - the bouncy feeling from the ZoomX is gone, but still extremely soft. The Flyknit upper has started tearing away from the midsole which affects the stability and is probably exaggerated because I am a forefoot striker. For the price, I would expect these shoes to be pretty solid for 300 miles but would love to get 500 miles out of them like some other max cushion offerings from competitors (I know this is a lot to ask for). The design is great during the early stages of the shoe, and maybe it's different for midfoot and heels strikers, but I can't give full marks for this amount of deterioration at the sub-200 mile mark. Hopefully the third iteration works on that durability!

  • Recovering from surgery, only used for walking, sole is almost gone

    chazrusso - 12 Sept 2022

These are by far the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I love them. However, the sole does not hold up. I bought these right before having surgery, so I have only used them for walking. They have about 100 *light* walking miles on them, and the rubber on the forefoot is nearly gone. I would hate to see how long these last if used for running.

Possibly the cushiest shoe I have ever owned but with very solid lateral stability. Also, very important, Nike’s usually run a tad bit narrow but these are actually a bit wider. My foot is not wide but a perfect medium width and I’ve always felt that most Nike’s have fit me slightly narrow but these are just a bit wider. Not crazy wider but enough that they fit so much better. I used to wear the early Vomero’s like version 1 through 4 and loved them because they also weren’t so narrow and then they just became narrower and narrower with every new version. These fit amazing, are very stable and feel like walking on a purple mattress!! 😊 Please Nike, don’t make these narrower than they are ever again!! They are perfect!! Thanks! 👍🏼👟👍🏼
