Best Weather Proof Shoes!

I got my Gore-TX shoes a few weeks ago and I love them!! The blue color is awesome and the orange shoe laces are even better. Unfortunately, the shoelace on my left shoe is torn right where I tie them, so I might exchange the shoes (still in my 60 days). I contacted Nike who said they don't sell shoelaces, and these are too cool to replace with regular shoelaces from a different store. Also, I got my regular shoe size (W 8), and I find that both of my big toes hurt after wearing these shoes for a little bit. I am considering sizing up by half a shoe size, but I am nervous as I have very skinny feet and these fit perfectly. Does anyone know if sizing up would help with the toe issue? Im not really a runner, but I hike a lot, especially the greenbelt here in Texas, so I got these to help keep water out of my shoes. Today, we got a record of 6-7 inches of snow and these babies are doing wonders for my snow play! My feet are dry and warm!! I am worried about the summer months as it gets 100 F here, but hopefully by then I will be able to afford the non-Gore-TX ones.
warm, dry, comfortable

I love these sneakers. They keep my feet warm in subzero Northern NY winter temps and the traction is excellent - I haven't fallen on snow or ice. Sometimes I wear them walking on the trail in 2+ feet of snow, and even though the snow gets at my ankles of course, my feet stay dry and super warm. My one critique (specific to my feet but just in case it's helpful to someone) is that the laces tie at juuuust the right spot on my right foot that my circulation is a bit cut off and it hurts + is very uncomfortable running. I laced them to tie in the middle of my sneaker (closer to my toes) and that alleviated the problem. I wear both sneakers loser than my non-winter running shoes because of this and it's fine but if this sneaker went just a smidge higher (which would also keep more water/snow out) I think it would be truly perfect. I got my regular Nike running size (.5 larger than my standard shoe size) and they fit perfectly, even with thicker socks. I was worried they might be heavy compared to my Nike React Infinity sneakers, which I like because they're quite light, but they are not heavy at all. I've worn them almost daily for over two months for 3+ miles and they don't look worn down at all.
Not Waterproof

First pair started leaking water in the toe area around 6 miles while I was trail running, with the occasional puddle to slosh through. Since this is not my usual experience with Nike Gore-tex shoes, I immediately called customer service and they kindly replaced that pair. Second pair also failed around mile 6 in the exact same toe area. Would not recommend these shoes if you are looking for something to keep your feet dry.
