We are the 5 co-founders of Worksout in Seoul
Seunghyuk, Changhoon, Sunyoung, Erang, Sihyun.
We met in the high school entrance ceremony. On day 1.
There were a couple of things bonded us, but mostly it was sneakers.

Reading sneaker mags from Japan together and talking about who’s killing it, what rocks..
We were all eager to show off and wanted to be different. Shoe was the only way to do that.
I think that was the point bonded all of us together, very closely.

One day Seunghyuk found a foreign website selling Nike shoes and we saw some opportunity in there to start Southfoot.
We were so young and we just kicked it off without any serious consideration.
There was no proper office, we all gathered in Seunghyuk’s home in the beginning.

His home was like, our hideout.
So many shoeboxes in the living room, 5 of us messing up in those boxes trying to find shoes we got to ship..

After visiting Japan, I thought we should expand to clothing to make street fashion more popular in Korea.
There was a foreign guy who worked with us wanted to make own brand and the name was Worksout.
He proposed the name to us saying “I can only give it to you guys.” So I asked

What Worksout means? It was like “Nailed it” with a bit of nuance.
It felt just right like 5 of us, starting from high school days
and now, “Made it!” So instantly, Southfoot turned into Worksout.
When we opened the first Worksout store, it was like our own proper sanctuary “Cool” I could only thing it is damn cool.

The most important idea leading us, over 20 years is
“Let’s do cool things. Let’s do what we want to do.”
Unchanged. Never. Find whatever you love.
Look for the ideal and think what comes next.
There is no finish line. Keep going.
