"The whole BORNXRAISED story started right here in Venice. So, I wanted to come back and kind of do it for Venice. I wanted to pay it forward."

"I'm Spanto from BORNXRAISED, and we're here at Venice High School. I was here in like '95, '96, but my family has also been at this high school for five generations. My great grandpa went here, my grandpa went here, my mom, my aunts, my uncles, me."

"So I wanted to come back and do something nice for the kids. So we're going to give every graduating student a pair of these shoes today. This is the fun part. This is what makes it all worth it, you know..."

"...what I mean? This is how I get to pay it forward. This is how I get to do something nice. This is what makes all the headaches go away, you know? What's up, Gondos?"

"I wanted to thank you guys for making your family proud, for getting your diploma, graduating high school, crossing the stage, and..."

"...wearing that cap and gown. So with that being said, I got you guys a nice little accessory to complement your cap and gown. This is BORNXRAISED and Nike."

"This is our first time anybody's going to see this shoe. It's not going to be on a rapper or a celebrity, it's going to come from y'all. You guys are the first people to get this shoe. When I count to three and I say, "Go Gondoliers," I want you guys to open this shoe up."

"Growing up here in the '80s and '90s, Venice was a very, very, very cool, diverse, eclectic city. I've been around the world and I don't think I've ever been anywhere that's like this place. And I'm just very fortunate to have grown up here around all these different cultures."

"It's a melting pot for a lot of different people and a lot of different reasons. BORNXRAISED is just an idea."

"I didn't have any connections. I didn't know anybody. I didn't have celebrity friends. I didn't have a co-sign. I didn't even know the industry. I never worked retail. I knew less than nothing, but I had an idea and the idea was true to myself."

"I stuck to the script the entire time and it worked for me.
The one block at a time part, too, it's almost just like one day at a time. Just keep it pushing. Yeah, I like that part a lot. It's inspirational, for real."
