"My name is Venus X. I'm a DJ and I am very lucky to work in music and fashion."

"You grew up in New York? Yes. You grew up with the Air Force 1? I did. It was a staple in our uniform. There was only a few girls that have really cool sneakers at the time, and NikeID, 21 Mercer were popping off."

"We would literally hang out at Nike, it was like the thing to do. But teenagers were going to trading link ups and there were hundreds of kids lined up to potentially find the new pair, trade a pair that they'd had..."

"...figure out what the value was. There was no StockX, there was no eBay, so the whole thing was just very magical."

"And we got some stuff. Why don't you go put your gloves on? Bring some of that stuff over. When these came out, I remember I was like, Wait, brands know we exist? This is wild. Because for a long time people didn't understand that there were so many different types of Latinos."

"You guys, you got some stuff over there. Yeah, this was a really special moment for me. When this came out, I was like, Okay, wait, we have our own sneaker that feels like it is full fashion force. But we're gonna go ahead and go into Chapter 4, A Timeless Icon."

"She's the founder and creative director of Ambush, a Nike collaborator introducing Yoon Ahn. Maybe talk to us a little bit about maybe what you've done Nike in the past."

"I think we started working together in like 2018. I think you guys remember the big fur jacket with the Swoosh in the back?"

"So you have something you wanna share live on the SNKRS app right now? It's the new Air Force 1s that we're gonna be launching in December.Somebody's real excited too, I think to debut these. Oh, you see? Drop the lights."

"This is crazy. These are insane. So can you tell us a little bit more about the design and the inspiration? It’s kind of like a continuation of the Dunks that I made..."

"...and I wanted to kind of bring the same energy into this with very vivid like energy colors, almost like vitamin colors. And the extended Swoosh just became such a big signature of my collab with Nike."

"I think only people who really know Air Force 1 will notice, but the soles have been extended out to give more volume, so it feels more like weight and there's a solidness to the whole form."

"Getting to see the inside of it, and the foam. It's just one of those things that if you know, you know, it's just like seeing under the hood of an amazing car. It's just special. What made you think to just bump the outsole out?"

"When you mentioned it, I know that's when I noticed it and I was like, Yo, that's crazy. So Air Force 1, I kinda wanted to bring more a low rider vibe. That's how I wanted to bring the weight down and make it even extend out so you could kind of sit low and heavy on the foot."

"This is a shoe that has a lot of tradition and history to it, so I think when you can be delicate and subtle and make dramatic changes that don't feel like you're wearing a completely different shoe, there's a lot to be said about that."
