I chose these shoes for a match to my Zoom Pegasus shoes for winter running in Wisconsin. They arrived and the next day I was able to put 10 miles on them that had some portions of sloppy trail after a rain. The shoes stayed dry and the grip was excellent. The high tops and liner do feel odd initially, but the feeling was quickly forgotten in the run. They are obviously heavier shoes, but that is part of the gig for winter shoes.
About 3 days later it snowed and I was able to take them for a run in three inches of fresh, wet snow on roads. Again, my feet were warm and dry and the grip was excellent. Exactly what I was hoping for.
One warning, for me the shoes run big. I’m ok with that because as it gets colder, I will be double socking as them temperatures drop to the single digits and less. For those that prefer a tighter fit, I recommend getting a half size smaller than you normally do.
