South Korea Women’s National Team’s Soyun Ji

Ji So-yun is the first South Korean to compete in the FA Women's Super League and she aims to make a big impact. "I wanted to pioneer the way for Korean players, so that they can find new opportunities in Europe and beyond", says Ji. She's already made waves, winning player of the year in her debut season and helping Chelsea win the double in 2018 with 12 goals.

As an attacking midfielder who wears the iconic number 10, Ji is often compared to the greats, but she prefers to build her own legacy. In league play she's made a name for herself with precise free kicks from the top of the circle, or as her teammates call it, "The Ji So-yun Zone". In international play, she's entering the world stage a few goals away from becoming the top-scoring South Korean player of all time—men's or women's.

The South Korean National Team made history by advancing to the knockout stages in 2015, but Ji is hunting the ultimate prize: a world title. "Until I reach that goal", says Ji, "I don't think I will quit playing football".
