Really comfortable, perfect for running.
Very disappointed in the overall performance of these as serious running shoes...

I actually purchased these for serious long distance running, although after I have read about 35 of the reviews on nike.com, most people use these $100 dollar shoes for walking, running basic errands and shoes to lift weights in, or as daily work shoes. These legend react ran me $80 bucks at DSW, so for that price I thought they'd be worth a try since they have react foam. First run was a 6 mile decent effort run. I thought with the energy I put fourth my time would be better, but I came in at a slow 48:51. Im normally a midfoot striker, but in these legend react I was heel striking more than I like. The following day my quads and calves were very sore. I put on compression socks the entire day and that helped my calves but my quads were sore the following day as well. My next run was 8 days later and another 6 mile run. Once again I struggled with midfoot striking in this shoe as it was easier to heel strike in this shoe. My time was 49:18, and I was starting to become disappointed in these shoes. I want to run faster, these shoes just wont seem to get up and go, they only want to run slow and leisurely. The following day my quads and calves were sore, so on with the compression socks and had to skip running the following day as my quads were still sore. I went back to nike.com and read more reviews on this shoe, but the other 4 reviews were the same thing, the person only walks and uses these shoes for work or leisure. I honestly thought with nikes new react foam that these shoes would keep my legs from being sore and my run times would be much faster. As I've looked at the forefoot of this shoe, the stack height is quite low and there is not much react foam up by the forefoot. I've ran 3 more times in this shoe, 2 x 6 mile runs, and 1 x 8 mile run. Same thing again, I consistently heel striked in this shoe, my run times were slower than my other shoes average times and my legs were sore for 2 days after, forcing me to miss my next run, and run a day later. After 32 miles in these shoes, they have been a major disappointment. Very slow run times, the design or low volume of react foam left my quads and calves consistently sore after each run and this shoe messed with my natural running mechanics of midfoot striking, as I found myself heel striking consistently in these shoes. For $100 I'm not sure why anyone would purchase these shoes for running. If you need shoes for work or leisure, theres shoes out there for $40-50 bucks that perform as well or better. I realize this is only one shoe from Nike, but this doesn't is a major miss if yoire going to buy these for serious running. Just as a side note after 24 miles the heel rubber was wearing completely off, and this should not happen after 24 miles and especially in the heel as most of my shoes wear out in tte midfoot area...
NOT DURABLE

The first few times wearing and running in these were amazing. I didn't feel to "wear" them in at all. Unfortunately I noticed that the bottom white part had quite a few creases and wrinkles. In a week they don't look nice, and the rest of the shoe looks brand new. Due to the creasing, I've lost about 30% comfort. I've worn these enough to say I don't think they'll last in the long run. Disappointed in Nike.
