It is a most peculiar shoe, in fact the most peculiar shoe I have used considering all kinds i.e. non running shoes also. It looks big, clunky heavy - something that you would wear for a hike in a muddy trail. The upper looks thick, you get the feeling by looking at it that it will become all wet in a tropical summer. You wear it and the peculiar feel grows - feels more squishy that your usual road runners including those by nike. Your feet kind of sink into it a bit, you are unsure about your first few steps. After your first kilometer you realize it is lighter than your lightest shoes, after 10 you realize your feet are still breathing, there is no sensation of your feet heating up after runnig 10 km at above your normal tempo pace. The above normal happened with my first run itself because of the comfort and the lift and bounce I got from the ground. The other peculiarity is that despite its clunky appearance, your toes will feel the road. The first time I tried these shoes, I was aiming for a 4 km tempo at a pace I was strivinf for , for the past one month. I managed that without realizing. In later runs I also found that the extra bounce let me improve my cadence in the last km of a tiring run with realtively less effort. Overall the most peculiar and the most extraordinary shoe I have ever run in. I was a barefoot runner in my youth, and as a result I like minimalist shoes, yet this one is now my favaorite. The one other shoe that wowed me the frst time itself was the Nike free with the 3 mm sole. This shoe is characterwise and looks wise the very opposite yet gives the same feeling of minimalism and comfort with speed. I also feel that this may be a good shoe for runners (like me) who run a marathon at around 5-6 min/km pace. The comfort and response may be the key in getting past the 30-35 km barrier without hitting the wall for this pace, rather than the vaporflies which are more for people who can run the entire distance with minimal heel contact.

These are one of the most comfortable pairs you can wear. The shoes are very cushy, and you can wear them all day at the mall and you won't get tired. I would love to run in them, but I noticed that there is a slight separation between the outsole and the midsole. I had to get it repaired. I would guess this was just a fluke on Nike's production for this pair I bought. I love them anyways, except right now, I refuse to run in them (too scared the sole might separate again). But I love most of the Nike lines, and this shouldn't stop you from copping this pair.

no doubt about it, the shoes are damned comfortable, with a great cushion, support, and spring for my cross-fit workouts. The problem is that for the 'step-in' to work, you need to order at LEAST a half size up, if not a full size, if you want to wear a sock. And I've been looking on a literal weekly basis, but apparently Nike doesn't make anything bigger than a 12 in these... Come'on Nike, can I get a 13?!
