Amikor fiatalabb volt, Rayssa pont annyira imádta a tündéreket, mint a gördeszkázást. Számára teljesen mindegy volt, hogy valami a „fiúknak vagy a lányoknak szólt” – a lényeg az volt, hogy jól érezze magát. E két szerelem kombinációja pedig megváltoztatta az életét. Amikor hat éves volt, azzal lett híres, hogy tündérjelmezben csinált meg egy heelflipet. A videóval repülőrajtot vett a karrierje, és felfigyelt rá a gördeszkás közösség és a világ. Most pedig még alig töltötte be a tizenhármat, és mégis a világ egyik legjobb sportolójaként visz varázslatot a sportba.
__Mikor kaptad az első gördeszkád? Mesélj róla.__
__RAYSSA:__ Az első gördeszkámat hatévesen kaptam ajándékba. Rollert szerettem volna, és kértem is egyet az apukámtól. Egy napra rá azonban egy gördeszkát adott nekem, én pedig azt gondoltam, hogy „hűha, nem hinném, hogy ez nekem menni fog”.

__Mesélj arról, amikor úgy döntöttél, hogy tündérjelmezt hordasz. Hogyan történt mindez?__
__RAYSSA:__ Vicces volt. Éppen a brazil függetlenség napja volt aznap, én pedig részt vettem az iskolám felvonulásán. Felvettem a nagymamám készítette ruhát, és amikor vége volt a felvonulásnak, úgy voltam vele, hogy „oké, csak a zoknim és a cipőm kell, aztán mehetek deszkázni”. Elkezdtem bemelegíteni, aztán gyorsan nyomtam egy heelflipet. Anyukám pedig lefilmezte és közzétette.
__Egyetlen videóval két sztereotípiát is megdöntöttél. Az első: a lányok nem tudnak deszkázni. A második: minden deszkás ugyanúgy néz ki. Mesélj erről.__
__RAYSSA:__ Hűha, hát elég vad volt. Olyan hozzászólásokat írtak az emberek, hogy „Azta, egy tündérnek öltözött lány, aki olyan trükköket tol, amelyeket egy felnőtt férfi sem tudna utána csinálni”. A gördeszkázás nem csak a hercegeknek szól, hanem a hercegnőknek is, én pedig megmutattam, hogy erre a lányok is képesek.

__Ugye tudod, hogy nagyon sok lány számára jelentesz inspirációt?__
__RAYSSA:__ Sok-sok olyan bátorító üzenetet kaptam Instagramon, melyekben az állt, hogy megmutatták a videómat a szüleiknek, akik aztán megengedték nekik, hogy gördeszkázzanak. Nagyon boldog vagyok, hogy egyre több lányt és fiút köszönthetek a gördeszkázás világában.

__RAYSSA:__ Előre, tündérek, mert tudom, hogy segítetek megszüntetni az előítéleteket a világunkban. Álmodhattok, és képesek vagytok megvalósítani az álmaitokat – amikor a tündérek repülnek, a világ varázslatosabb hellyé válik.
