3.5 Stars
Nice workout shoe, took a little adjusting

I got these for my conditioning and strength classes. Overall, I like the shoe and found they fit true to size for me. I’m a very standard size 8 in almost every brand and that held true here. I would have given them 5 stars but when I first got them, for the first few weeks, when I put them on they’d make the top of my foot go a little numb. Not pain, just numb because the added support at the instep. I have never had that particular issue and was going to return them but noticed that the numbing stopped once I started a workout. After about 13 workouts the numbness stopped completely so I kept them. A little weird but I liked them enough to keep them and was happy they never caused any actual pain. Overall they have worked really well for my cardio and lifting.
Cute, but not functional.

I just bought this new version of the Metcon after having another pair for nearly 3 years that I loved, but they've seen better days. This new version is a nice redesign, but the fabric/materials used causes the show to be very small. It's a suede material which sounds nice, but it has zero stretch. I ordered my normal size and could barely fit my foot in. I'd recommend Nike reconsider the material used on the shoe for more flexibility. As a weightlifter, there needs to be some stability and flexibility in the shoes worn for lifting, HIITs, etc.
Favorite Metcons, with one major con

I've owned all the Metcon and Metcon Flyknit generations, and this is my favorite. They look good (better than the photos) and are super comfortable. However, if you have feet that are anything beyond medium width, they will probably be too tight across the forefoot. I have narrow feet, and had to wear them a for a few 2-hour stints indoors to determine if I was going to keep them - they were that tight. Once they stretched a bit, it was a perfect fit. Still not easy to get on two months later, but worth the struggle for the glove-like fit. They're stable enough for light/moderate lifting, and good for short runs. The problem with these, as with all the Metcons, is the thin outsole. I wear down the soles of all my shoes on the outside heel, but Metcons are extremely impacted because once the rubber wears off, the hard plastic heel plate beneath is exposed. The upper seems durable. Only problem is with the minimal outsole thickness.
