      How This Was Made

      • The recycled polyester used in Nike products begins as recycled plastic bottles, which are cleaned, shredded into flakes and converted into pellets. From there, the pellets are spun into new, high-quality yarn used in our products, delivering peak performance with a lower impact on the environment.

        While I never outright dislike any of my Nike apparel, this Dri-Fit Tank missed the mark for me. Although the material is super soft and moisture-wicking, the design itself doesn’t compliment me well. Perhaps this particular design was meant to appeal to a different body type, but personally, I feel the arm hole to neck hole ratio is way off balance. It also seems this particular design runs really big — I’m normally a large and I found this shirt in large to be extremely loose fitting and wide. For example, wearing this shirt to the gym was not ideal as my bare body was visible through my arm holes during multiple maneuvers on the weight machines. On the other hand, I did receive multiple compliments on the deep color of the shirt, which is actually a shade I haven’t seen from Nike. Another issue I have with the shirt is the lack of design. I understand that simple designs have been trendy lately, but this tank only flaunts one single design — a Nike Swoosh on the back of the neckline — taking simplicity to the extreme. I personally buy Nike because I appreciate the incorporation of the swoosh into different designs that help make the apparel stand out, and the lack of design on this shirt feels out of place. What I ended up liking most about this tank is that the material is smooth without sticking to your skin after a good workout. However, I think this tank can be improved with more attention to the design of both the cut of the shirt as well as the print.
