I usually wear an XS in Nike pants and shorts. I first got these in a size S then ordered XS. As a layering piece over winter tights and a baselayer, the S is a better fit. But if I were to wear them alone, the XS is better. So think about how you will be wearing them when choosing your size. I have been wearing another brand's Gore-Tex pants when running outside in the winter, which have no stretch. These Nike's are better because they have some stretch in the fabric, allowing freer movement when running. These are also somewhat thicker than the other brand's pants, though they are not heavy. Blocking wind and water when running outside is important and these do the job well. I would prefer if these had a little higher rise, but that's just me. The waistband is uncovered elastic, which may be an issue for some with sensitive skin if worn alone. I like that these are tapered towards the ankle and that they have ankle zippers for easy on and off. The zipped hand pockets are also good for ensuring keys don't fall out and stay dry. Do recommend.
