Hello everyone and welcome back to Carte Blanche. I am your host, Julia Lebossé, I am 21, a freelance writer and the founder of sneakersbywomen. This month's theme is Black History Month and 

Mental Health. Today we are joined by the amazing Hélène Selam Kleih. I am a writer, researcher and model and now I'm currently training to be a psychotherapist. What do you have on feet today?

I have the ACW Nike TNs. Acceptance or questioning? Acceptance. Writing words or speaking them? Writing words. You can learn so much through accepting parts of yourself. Already wisdom in icebreaker.

What is "Him + His" and why did you create it? The whole premise is how we use creativity as a form of prevention for mental health issues. Being an advocate for mental health is a huge part of your life

But how does that take a toll on your own? Once I took a bit of a step back and stopped being so forward facing all the time, I was more intentional with the work that I was doing. Moving on to the next part of Carte Blanche, which is the quote.

There we go, more 'prosperitee'. Prosperity is proven not promised. You are always on a journey, like you still have to work at it. You guys at home voted for creative expression. I think it is about

experimenting and exploring. I also think creativity is not limited to just creative fields or creative mediums in terms of like, "oh you're an artist", it can literally be anything. It's all about

spreading the love. I'd like to shout out to Daaro Youth, it is an organisation helping refugees from the Horn of Africa. The work that they do on the ground is just amazing, it is something I wish I had more time to be involved.

What is the one thing that you would like people to take away? Have faith in your journey. I think it's having faith more than even having hope, even if it seems like you're taking steps back, everything is taking a step forward. It's all leading to something.
