3,5/4 years. My name is Sam, I just recently joined Greater Goods. That is a project that started off my bedroom and now is in a studio space. We focus on making things from old stuff. I was always interested in things that are more hands-on

So like woodwork, textiles, clay, any more physical. Upcycling is at the core of what we do. Our motto is "Nothing into something". So that kind of summarizes Greater Goods as a whole, and working with any type of product 

and kind of reducing that into something that has life again. It is like we have created a designer's take through upcycling that we might not notice, but when other people see a Greater Goods project, they kind of see the DNA in that.

Greater Goods is a visionary brand creative project, collective, just in how we have approached upcycling, I think we have pushed it in a more approachable, respected space. I think upcycling can fit into sneaker 

culture. In this culture people tend to be individual in what they wear so upcycling is almost a way of doing that because you are guaranteeing that the product that you have made from an old product is not going to be seen anywhere else. A workshop

starts with the product that we would use, we would decide what we are going to make from the existing product. Whether it is like heavy material, light material, if it is plain, if it has a lot of zips and if it has buttons, a lot of different features.

Everyone starts cutting, everyone starts making, we give a simple pattern but everyone's outcome is unique. Trainers and clothing go hand in hand. We have got loads of Nikes, so we are looking forward to doing the SNKRS workshop as well.
