"We have another incredible guest calling in remote from world headquarters in Beaverton to tell us more about the Air Jordan 2 'Chicago'. He is a Senior Footwear Design Director at Jordan Brand. Please welcome Graeme McMillan".

"Hi, Graeme. Let's get into the 2. Let's ask you a few questions about the design process. How long was the design process for this pair and when did it start?"

"Typically, when we bring back a shoe in Jordan, it's about a year and a half long to do that. This was probably a little bit over two years, because we wanted to make sure we got all the details right".

"How did you approach the design for the Air Jordan 2? The toe box is something that we really focused on compared to previous releases. We wanted to make sure we got the shape right".

"We wanted to make sure that we got every little detail from the stitch margins to the perforations on the vamp. Even the tongue logo, we revamped that and brought that back in a more accurate way".

"I heard the box is crazy, too. This is the first time we brought the box back to the original spec of the '87 release".

"Just really left no stone unturned when it came to being authentic and trying to make this the best retro of the 2 we've ever done".

"What major aspects are considered when reintroducing OG pairs to a new audience? It's basically to tell the story of the shoe and, again, just to get back to that authenticity".

"For me, this is a really important shoe that set in motion the approach to how the Air Jordan had evolved. It's important, because this is the first Nike slash Jordan shoe that didn't have a Swoosh on it".

"And that set in motion where the game shoe, the Air Jordans have gone since that shoe".

"What does this pair mean to you and the sneaker community? This is a niche product in the Jordan community and I think all the fans of the 2, they've waited a long time for this".

"I hope that more people see what a great shoe it is and its importance in the lineage of the Air Jordan".

"As we add in our little details, I want to keep you on here to make sure that we got everything right. The Chicago colourway for the first time crafted to the OG 87 specs when it comes to shape, fit and tooling".

"Premium leather on the upper, that OG Nike Air and wings logo. They looked out for y'all for real. Thank you so much, Graeme. All right thanks for having me".
