Great new direction in the Peg. THANK YOU NIKE!

I've always thought that if Nike gave a huge stack of react foam in the heel and put a big air bag in the forefoot that they would have the perfect daily trainer. I literally said this to a Nike store worker last year. I've had the Zoom Fly series, peg 35, peg turbo and epic react series. All of them were good but were missing something. The Peg 37 is the best running shoe I've ever owned. Cons: It's a little slower than the 35 and 36. But, who cares? There is so much more spring and impact protection that it's well worth sacrificing the speedy transitions of cushlon foam. These are seriously more cushioned than my epic reacts yet they can still be used for speed intervals if needed. The toe box starts a bit tight but it loosens up. I had no heel slippage like people were saying so the lockdown feels great. Pros: The midsole is absolutely what a daily trainer should be, especially for people getting into running and perhaps have more body weight than they wish. This shoe will help your impact on the hard road with the extra body weight. That body weight won't be around long cause this shoe will make you want to go running. It's stable enough if you're a mild pronator like me but don't want too much stride interference. It's not too narrow unlike the zoom fly series. You won't have to worry about rolling your ankle when your form erodes due to fatigue. Forefoot protection and spring is excellent. That airbag is great. The durability is awesome. No ugly creases like the old pegs on the midsole. The tongue is thinner but doesn't feel crumpled up and loose like the Turbos. Also, I like zoom air in the forefoot better than zoom x foam in the forefoot.
Overall, great cushion shoes, but not great for stability or speed
Mili1212 - 05 Jan 2021
I have waited until I put about 100 miles on the shoes before reviewing them. I run average 20-30 miles a week and my pace is usually 7-8 minute-mile. The first 50 miles, the upper seemed to not breath at all and snugged my foot very tight. It was at a level that I was considering returning the shoes until they loosened up after 50-60 miles or so, but usually should not take that long. Still, it is not as breathable as it should be. The cushion is great, but the boost of speed that is advertised with these type of shoes are just not there, they cancel out with the cushion and high weight of the shoe. They feel significantly heavier compared to other performance models (from other brands) that I use in rotation with this one. So if you think they will decrease your minute-mile, they won't, however, they will give you great cushion if that is what you are looking for. Also, these shoes show up after filtering for stability, but they do not provide significant support for medium-low arch feet. Overall, I believe there are a lot of room for improvement, so I am giving them 4 stars.
Fell apart after two months...smh!
CraziGreek - 04 Jan 2021
I had these shoes for two months and the shoe literally fell apart from the sole to the inside of the heel, very shocking since I have had two previous generations or Air Pegasus that were very strong and held together very well even through machine washes.. The feel felt cheaply made compared to previous versions of the Air Pegasus. Customer service was great top notch sent me an email so I could send back for a full refund.
