THE RACE & COURSE

WHAT DO I NEED ON RACE DAY IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE?
To participate in the 2014 Nike Women’s Half Marathon DC and to be allowed on course, all runners must wear their assigned race bib/timing tag and pace corral bracelet. Be sure to complete the emergency contact information on the backside of your bib before racing.

Your bib should be attached to the front of the body on the outer-most garment in order to be visible to all race officials, photographers, and finish line technicians throughout the race. Runners who do not have a race bib will be escorted off the course and will not be recognized or rewarded as a participant.

IS THERE A START CORRAL SYSTEM?
Yes. Based on the projected pace per mile that you provided during registration, you will be given a corresponding colored Pace Bracelet that must be worn on race day. Enter the pace corral that matches your start corral pace bracelet. Men will be seeded in the 9:30 - 10:29 or slower corral, based on the pace that was designated at the time of registration. The available pace groups are listed below:

·  SUB 7:59

·  8:00 – 8:59

·  9:00 – 9:29

·  9:30 – 10:29

·  10:30 – 11:29

·  11:30+

WHAT IF MY PROJECTED PACE HAS CHANGED FROM WHEN I REGISTERED?
You are able to self-seed yourself at a slower Pace Start corral by simply moving back to a slower pace. You may not move to a faster pace corral and doing so will risk disqualification for timing/scoring reasons.

WHAT TIME DOES THE RACE START?
The Nike Women’s Half Marathon DC will start at 7AM. Your bib/timing tag will record your start as you cross the start line timing mats to begin your run.

WHAT IF MY BIB AND/OR TIMING CHIP FALLS OFF DURING THE RACE?
If the bib is securely fastened to the front of the runner's body this is unlikely to occur. In the event a runner makes it to the finish line and is missing their race bib/timing tag they should immediately head to the solutions tent to prove their status and be recognized as a finisher.

HOW MANY WATER STATIONS AND PORTO-LETS WILL BE AVAILABLE?
The Nike Women’s Half Marathon DC course map indicates the aid station locations along the course. Porto-lets will be available at all aid stations and at additional locations on course.
