Playing his college golf at the University of Georgia, Russell was the 2010 Haskins Award winner for most outstanding collegiate golfer. His amateur career also includes tying for the low amateur score at the 2010 U.S. Open and winning the 2011 Stadion Classic on the Nationwide Tour - only the second amateur ever to win on the tour. Russell picked up two wins on the Web.com Tour in 2012 and started on the PGA Tour in 2013 with a bang, winning the Sony Open in Hawaii.
