Miguel turned professional in 2011 at the age of 17. He finished fourth at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters and narrowly missed qualifying for a full 2012 Asian Tour Card. As an amateur, Miguel took home the silver medal in the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China and finished in the top-40 on the 2011 Asian Tour Qualifying Final Stage.
