Jamie was a two-time first-team All-American at the University of Southern California, where he won the NCAA individual title as a sophomore; he also won the Arnold Palmer (individual medalist), Jack Nicklaus (national player of the year) and Phil Mickelson (outstanding freshman) awards that season. At the 2009 Frys.com Open, in only his ninth PGA Tour event, Jamie finished T-2 after reaching a playoff. He played the Nationwide Tour full-time in 2010, topping the money list and earning his PGA Tour card, where he had a top-25 finish at Puerto Rico Open.
